Crown Services Inc. has been a member of the Chamber since 2010. We utilize the member lists, reports and statistics especially on the economy and work force development provided by the Columbus Chamber. These resources are invaluable tools for us at Crown Services, Inc. In addition we take advantage of the networking opportunities and Karen Siravo serves on the Columbus Region Logistics Council.
How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
As CEO, I stay on top of trends by researching on the computer and reading reports from various organizations such as the Columbus Chamber. I am a naturally curious person from idea to detail. I want to know where to go for information and who to ask for answers. I like to know predictions for the future so I can strategically focus our company.
What is your company culture like?
We are a big family. If in doubt, do what is right. This culture was started by our founder, Chad Countiss, in 1968 and continues today. He always told us to do for your customers what you would do for your family. As a staff we work as a team to support each other and service our clients.
What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?
Our employees have to be innovative with fire in their belly. Success is what each employee defines it. We test for skills and ability however in the end I like to surround myself with people that are smarter than me and have initiative.
Columbus is filled with varied and diverse businesses so you can easily find a number of niche markets. Also, there is a great number of company headquarters located in Columbus. The growth and development in Columbus is outstanding. I enjoy the vibrancy in Columbus due to transient people adding to the workforce.
What piece of advice have you found to be most helpful since starting your career?
- Punch in every day doing the best you can for accomplishing your goals.
- Listen, the answers to most questions are with the people around you.
How do you achieve work/life balance?
If you did the best you could while at work, you do not feel guilty leaving. You forget about work.
