Tell us about your company’s mission and values.
At the root of BlackLine’s culture is a simple mission statement “Think, Create, Serve.” BlackLine employees are challenged to be constantly thinking of ways we can improve our company, create new experiences and serve our customers, community and fellow employees.
How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
Our company has been at the forefront of innovation in accounting for the past 17 years. We are constantly learning, and working with both customers and partners to understand and be prepared for the future.
What is your company culture like?
BlackLine is a company built on personal relationships – relationships with our clients, as well as relationships with fellow employees. Although we have been growing rapidly over the past several years, we have been able to maintain our informal, family atmosphere where new employees are warmly brought into the fold and quickly get to know everyone on a personal basis. We believe this is how you build strong teams and foster a collaborative environment.
What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?
You must be self-directed, self-motivated, and truly care about both customers and coworkers. Understanding the business of our prospects and the trends within their industries is critical.
What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?
Columbus is filled with top-notch businesses and industries. I love that Columbus is innovative and forward thinking, because BlackLine is as well. The increased business growth and technology in the city of Columbus is amazing — and proven as the Smart City recipient in 2016. The Smart City is brilliant and I just love that.
