Provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services.
Blue Sky Car Wash is an express wash with locations in Powell and Lewis Center. We have the only all-belt conveyor in Central Ohio, which means no rails and no risk of damage to your wheels. Our customers come to us for a clean car, free vacuums and friendly service. Our best value is a monthly plan – unlimited washes at one low monthly price.
Tell us about your company’s mission and values.
Our mission is to be the best express wash in Powell, and Lewis Center and each city we expand to. We want to provide a great product and great service to our customers so there’s nowhere else they want to go. We want to do the basics really well, vs. doing lots of things halfway.
What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?
We’re looking forward to taking advantage of the market/data analysis information the Chamber has, as well as compensation and wage analysis information.
How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
Read, search, watch videos, ask questions – never stop learning. Social media has made it really easy to engage with other business owners so that we can all learn from each other.
What is your company culture like?
We are a family owned business, and all five of us work in the business. We also employ a lot of high school and college students and we try to coach and teach them as we would our own kids. It’s definitely a small business feel, rather than a corporate-type atmosphere.
What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?
Work hard, and always stay interested in learning more.
What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?
It’s such a vibrant, growing area. There’s always something new, or bigger, or better on the horizon. It’s just an exciting time to be here.
What pieces of advice have you found to be the most helpful since starting your career?
Work hard and always go the extra mile. That’s advice that serves you well whether you are waiting tables or running a company, and many people just won’t.
How do you achieve a work/life balance?
It’s tough but you just have schedule family time or vacations like you do work commitments. It’s so important to spend your time with the important people in your life.
