Provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services.
Ahola provides unique cloud-based technology to manage Payroll, HR, Benefits, & Time and Attendance needs of small to mid-market companies. Being a third generation family company we specialize specifically in family businesses. Helping to provide a family guidebook, succession planning, exit planning and more!

Tell us about your company’s mission and values.
We’ve always believed that family businesses are the backbone of the U.S. economy. They generate almost 60% of the GDP and employ 63% of the workforce. We’ve passionately studied the intricacies of family business and believe that the more we recognize the unique needs of family businesses, the stronger we all become.

Over the years, we’ve learned that family businesses are unlike any other. The differences in strategy as it relates to the family, the environment created by working so closely with your loved ones and, ultimately, the satisfaction of sharing success with those closest to you, make family businesses unique. With that in mind, the Ahola Corporation is dedicated to improving the way families do business — one business at a time

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?
The services we use the most through the chamber are the one on one meetings and the quarterly membership report. We love getting advice from the chamber on how to better connect with local businesses and find the companies we would be a great fit for.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
We stay apprised of industry trends through many industry organizations including the American Payroll Association, the Independent Payroll Providers Association, and the Society for Human Resource Management. We also network heavily with many trusted advisors in the financial services community including CPA’s, bankers, brokers and attorneys. We find out about more regional trends through our close relationships with local Chambers of Commerce.

What is your company culture like?
Our company culture resonates from the leadership team down, meaning; we thrive on a family-like company culture. We work as a team to support our clients and there is no shortage of help from the owners throughout the company to help keep everyone aligned with the same mission.

What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?
To be successful it takes persistence and drive. You have to truly want to help companies become better overall in order to be trusted by them and gain their business. Lastly, you need to be a team player. With so many different departments throughout a company everyone needs to be working together to reach a common goal in order to get to the next level.

What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?
Columbus is simply a thriving city. I have found that people in Columbus are more than willing to help connect you to others and that makes it so much easier to reach businesses at a high level.
