Tell us about your company’s mission and values.
Since opening our doors in 1966, our mission has been to improve quality of life for our communities and our people. We have a strong commitment to our communities; that’s what we are put on the planet to do. We accomplish this through the projects we bring to the communities every day. We also contribute to improving quality of life through or volunteer efforts and community service efforts. We focus our community service efforts in these areas: families/children, education, senior citizen, emergency and homeless shelters, and Armed Services/veterans organizations.

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?
We look forward to actively participate and collaborate with the Chamber and its members to help achieve the Chamber’s goal of serving and growing the Columbus business community. Through our involvement in the Chamber, we plan to build upon the relationships we already have and forge new relationships that lead to improving the quality of life in the Columbus metro area.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
We are members of multiple trade associations where innovative ideas are exchanged. Our team members also attend industry conferences and read industry journals to learn more about the latest trends and techniques that we can recommend to our clients to save money, save time, and maximize resources.

What is your company culture like?
Our culture can be described in three Fs – fast, fun, and freaky good. Our people have fun doing what they do to make our communities a better place to live, work, and play. It is also very rewarding to take our clients’ dreams, ideas, and concepts and turn them into realities that help shape and grow communities. Our culture is very much client-driven, creative, entrepreneurial, team-oriented, and one that demonstrates a yes-we-can mindset to meet new challenges every single day.

What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?
To be successful at our company, employees must be committed to achieving innovation, delivering excellent customer service to clients, and exploring ideas and concepts that can help our clients achieve their goals, even if those ideas are unconventional. Our people have to be willing to collaborate and communicate with each other and our clients. People with an entrepreneurial spirit thrive here as well, who are exceptionally energetic, are eager to take on new challenges, and are driven to create their own future.

What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?
Columbus is very progressive and open to change, which makes it a great place to do business. A lot of our residents are not from Columbus (myself included); the inflow of new people to the city along with the lifelong residents brings new ideas and an energy to the City. This is apparent with the revitalization of downtown and the public/private partnerships that are making large-scale projects possible that are reshaping Columbus. Working in the built environmental provides for a great opportunity for American Structurepoint in the public and private sectors, which makes Columbus a great place to do business.
