Most of our clients come to us at a critical milestone in their lives. We are highly attuned to both the emotional and financial ramifications associated with selling one’s business, planning for retirement and/or transferring assets to future generations and favorite causes.

Many financial advisors talk about being consultative, but a true consultative approach is relatively rare. To do so, you must have:
- Cooperative orientation. Clients don’t just want us to hold their hands and take care of everything for them. They want advisor who can work with them regularly in a highly collaborative manner to address their current and future challenges.
- Frequent contact. Top financial advisors know that clients want to be contacted on a regular basis about their financial AND non-financial issues. It could be about anything from family issues and personal milestones to current events and more. This is what fosters the close interpersonal relationships that are crucial to client loyalty.
- Customized communications. Affluent, successful people are extremely busy. They are looking for customized communications tailored to their specific preferences. We take the time to understand how clients want to be contacted, how often they want to be contacted and what they want to be contacted about.
In addition to personalized client service experience described above, we encourage our team to give back to the community. We support ACG Columbus, The Columbus Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), The New Albany Women’s Network and of course, Ohio State Buckeyes athletic teams.
This community came together for my family during my childhood. I never forgot that and will always give back. More on that in a minute.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
Interviewing influencers of our client base, networking events and conferences.
Our company culture is shaped by formative events during my childhood. Our reason for focusing on owners needing to plan for their next chapter outside of their business came from my family’s business. My family started a building company from nothing and grew it into a multi-million dollar business. However, when my parents decided to sell their company, very little was documented. They had unrealistic expectations about the marketplace. They ended up selling to an unscrupulous individual who walked out on them and was later charged with fraud. No one was paid and my family was personally responsible for business debt that caused us to nearly lose our family home. I never wanted to see that happen to hard working business families again.
Our fundamental why we do what we do, started when I was the youngest of 6 kids and my sister, Mandy, just in front of me when she was 2 years old was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder and for years my family invested a lot of money into her health and nothing worked. The doctors finally gave up and said it was hopeless and she was not going to make it. We turned to God and the church prayed and she was healed. It was truly a miracle. What was not a miracle is that the family was bankrupt. My parents were going to lose the house and the family going to be split up as we did not have enough money. A story about our situation was picked up by a local news channel. A man named Bill, a business owner, who had recently sold his business was so touched by the story he saw it on TV he paid off the mortgage, bought a brand new van and then he flew the entire family to Disney World in his private jet.
When I look back at how this one individual made a dent in the universe, I was inspired and an eternal fire was placed in me to want to make an impact like that. My life’s mission is to be a fantastic family steward in protecting those that are in my stewardship as clients. Making sure that when that if torpedos come at their boat that can take their financial ship under that they are well protected or for those people are lucky enough to be like Bill that have the ability if they turn left or right they can accumulate an immense amount of wealth to allow them to make work optional so they can focus on making a dent in the universe. To help people like Bill do things like he did for our family is immensely exciting.
