Provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services.
We are a multinational company that develops browser-based Unified Communications solutions and VoIP products. The company relies on the network of Certified Business Partners who install Wildix systems in Europe and in the United States. Wildix system is a complete and scalable solution for companies that need to upgrade their communication tools by introducing such features as videoconference, chat and users presence, and in the same time, reduce operating costs. Unlike other solutions available in the market, we offer a complete range of Hardware products and Unified Communications & Collaboration features. Wildix has been the first vendor to fully integrate WebRTC for direct audio and video communication support in the web browser without the need to install any software or configure VPN.
Tell us about your company’s mission and values.
Making working conditions better for employees has always been our key focus. By improving communication, employees can be healthier, happier and more productive.
Our mission is to seamlessly unify communications to better facilitate business across all platforms while continuing to embrace new technology.
We value innovation. As a whole, our company is constantly looking ahead at new technologies and how we can best utilize them in our product line to make your lives easier. Technology is only improving and expanding, and it is essential that we do the same.
What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?
As an emerging brand in Columbus, we are excited to be able to work with the Columbus Chamber to help expand our brand awareness and visibility within the community. We have an enthusiastic team and a product line that we are very proud of, and we want everyone to know about it!
How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
Our team is constantly innovating.
We research new technological trends; attend conferences, trade shows, and webinars; are very active on social media; and are constantly trying to improve. We work very closely with our business partners, and keep the conversations going through regular e-mail campaigns and video chats. This helps us gather feedback and information on a regular basis, to better understand what our customers needs are.
What is your company culture like?
At our core, we are young, unique and eager to improve – constantly looking for people who understand the value of hard work, but also want to help invest in other members of the team. Though we are far spread, our collaboration tool allows us to interact on a daily basis, meaning there is a consistent stream of open communication, allowing us to help one another in any way we can.
What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?
You need to be dynamic; a team player who isn’t afraid to take interest in innovation, with strong problem-solving skills.
What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?
Wildix came to the US last year, and Columbus has been the perfect place to start. There is a great entrepreneurial spirit here as well as a rapidly growing tech industry, which is a perfect environment to nurture a growing tech brand that is new to the US market. Everyone here is eager to help one another and see businesses grow and thrive, and we’re excited to be able to take part in it all.
What pieces of advice have you found to be the most helpful since starting your career? There are no dumb questions. Ask all the questions you want, because that is how you learn and improve. I remember early on in my career being afraid to sound dumb in front of my bosses or coworkers, so I held back on asking questions. I regret that. If you’re asking a question, it is because the answer isn’t clear – which means that there really are no dumb questions – and chances are, someone else has the same question.
Everyone you meet can open a door for you. This is the most true piece of advice I’ve ever received. While a little cliché, building the right network is how you get jobs and build relationships, whether that be personally or professionally.
How do you achieve a work/life balance?
Right now, work/life balance for me is a little difficult to find. We are very new to the US market, and with having business partners all over the globe, I tend to have to take calls all hours of the day/night. As we continue to grow and hire more people that we can trust to manage different aspects of the business, it will allow everyone, myself included, to invest more time in the things that are important.
Nevertheless, we are adamant that your time off is your time off. Enjoy it, relax, and understand that work will still be there when you get back.
