Tell us about your company’s mission and values.
Successful partnerships require mutual respect, a shared understanding of expectations, and a steadfast commitment to achieving the goal. Our commitment to excellence in client service includes investing the time to listen to our clients and thoroughly understand not just their legal issues, but also their organizational structure and business goals. This, in turn, allows us to provide better counsel and offer our clients practical insight in matters that may affect their business. Roetzel’s entrepreneurial philosophy encourages our attorneys to think like our clients – with business minds, ready to embrace new challenges and implement innovative approaches.
What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?
We look to become fully engaged with the Chamber, its members, as well as surrounding communities. The Chamber provides excellent networking opportunities for both business and professional development. Equally, we look forward to participating in a number of Chamber sponsored events so that we can engage in the issues that are facing the Columbus’ business community.
How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
We are constantly interacting with our clients by providing them with in-house seminars. Our attorneys frequently attend industry events, both locally and nationally, as well as being active members in leadership organizations, where they stay informed of cutting-edge technology and offerings, allowing us to provide the best service to our clients. We also participate in LinkedIn industry groups, hold positions on numerous boards, and most importantly, hold industry events for our clients to attend, such as our 2017 Labor & Employment Law Breakfast Briefings.
What is your company culture like?
Although we are a mid-size firm, we are very much like family. Most of our attorneys and supporting teams have been with us their entire careers; our clients have been with us long enough, that they too, feel like family. We strive to give our employees a work environment that is both conducive for growth and professional development, while keeping with the mindset of work hard, play hard. We also care deeply about our communities. We encourage volunteer work, and the firm actively supports the St. Jude and Discover the Dream, YWCA and the “Women of Achievement Lunch,” Salvation Army events such as the holiday bell ringing and the “Need Knows No Season,” Mid-Ohio Foodbank, and the Women’s Fund Key Holder event, to name a few. As for keeping our firm exciting and fun, we host events such as a Cinco de Mayo party, our annual summer family outing and holiday party, as well as OSU tailgating events at every home game, where we interact with our clients, too. In addition, the Columbus office has also been recognized by Business First as one of Columbus’ “Top 10 Best Places to Work.”
What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?
Columbus is the best place to do business in Ohio. Not only is it centrally located, but it also has the most business and political activity in the state. Columbus has a wealth of resources, including a highly skilled and talented workforce due to the outstanding educational institutions. Because central Ohio is so diverse – the abundance of arts and culture, welcoming neighborhoods, and strong commitment by our local leaders – the area is not only a great place to work, but to live. Columbus is growing rapidly and our services align with the city’s growing industries. We are excited and honored that our firm continues to play a key role in advising public and private businesses, governmental entities, organizations, and individuals in the area.
