What motivates you to jump out of bed in the morning?
I love working on new developments and nothing is more fulfilling than creating a living environment with top amenities allowing our residents to enjoy where they live.
Tell us about your company culture.
Our company culture is a group of hard working individuals, who work well together creating a great team. We also like to laugh in the office and often have company events. We don’t have people watching the clock, and we want our employees to be self-starters. A self-motivated employee is very important to me and if they enjoy working for our company, it will reflect well on what we all achieve.

What trends/insights are you finding in your field/market?
Rental housing is clearly in a growth phase, as it has been for some time. Mixed use and empty nester living is the type of developments we are focusing on right now. We are also expanding into Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. We are seeking mostly high end locations where there is limited competition and high barriers to entry. If the market does get over saturated, then our developments should be in good shape.
What advice do you have to give to emerging talent in your field?
When you start off a career you usually are very open minded. Don’t lose that! There is always another angle or a different way to get something done. Don’t get set in your ways, and keep a fresh look at things.
What benefit(s) attracted you to the Columbus Chamber?
The Columbus Chamber has great networking opportunities, is a very professional association, and has an utility savings program that we have used.
I am a Board Member of Columbus Apartment Association, Columbus Jewish Federation, Ohio State Hillel, and Agudas Achim Synagogue. I am also the young leader group advisor for the Urban Land Institute. We make sure that all of our communities are involved with a charity during the holiday time, and our residents take part in activities helping the needy. Our company has spent time in soup kitchens and Habitat for Humanity as well.
What Columbus business person do you most admire?
My father Gary is the person in Columbus who I most admire. He has taught us by many examples the importance of integrity, honesty, morality, ethics, and character. He has an outstanding ability to get along and communicate with all types of people from all walks of life, whether prominent or the common man, and has established great long-time associations with coworkers, suppliers, vendors, and customers, and treats them like family. He has achieved the most diversity of success of anyone in the residential industry, including building, renting, marketing and selling of single-family and fee-simple homes, condominiums, apartment communities, property-management, brokerage, land development and sales, and investments.
When you are not working, where in Columbus do you like to spend your time?
Well Columbus is a great place to live with many attractions. When the weather is nice, I like to play golf at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
