Columbus Chamber to Recognize Tanny Crane with 2014 Columbus Award at Annual Meeting on Feb. 5

Crane to be Recognized with Same Award Presented to Father 37 Years Earlier

Columbus, OH – Today the Columbus Chamber announced it will present the 2014 Columbus Award to Tanny Crane, president and CEO of Crane Group. The award, which annually recognizes outstanding business and community leadership, will be bestowed on Crane at the Chamber’s 2014 Annual Meeting on Wed., Feb. 5.

Crane will be the 51st recipient of the Columbus Award, an honor which her father, Robert S. Crane, Jr., received in 1977.  She is one of the Columbus region’s most prominent business leaders, growing and leading the Crane Group, a family-owned private holding and management company that was founded in 1947.  She is currently a Director on the Board at Huntington Bancshares and an Advisory Board Member with Thirty-One Gifts, as well as in past years she was the Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and a Director on the Board at Wendy’s International, Inc., helping them to develop successful growth strategies.

In addition, the Columbus community has benefitted from the gifts of Crane’s time and talent. Crane is a past member of the Columbus Chamber Board of Directors, and the Crane Group has been a member of the Chamber since 1959.

Crane serves on the boards of Columbus Partnership, I Know I Can, Ohio Business Roundtable, Ohio Health and Learn4Life. She supports her alma mater, The Ohio State University and the Fisher College of Business, as well.
