Councilmember Mills Makes Announcement at Pearl Market

Columbus, OH – Columbus City Councilmember Michelle M. Mills, Chair of the Public Safety and Judiciary Committee, helps open the 2012 Pearl Market season by announcing proposed “Community Market” legislation that is designed to grow small businesses and support one of Columbus’ most beloved downtown summer time attractions. Councilmember Mills will detail the code changes at Pearl Market Tuesday, May 15 at 10:30 a.m.

Entering its 20th year, Pearl Market opens the 2012 season in the intersection of Pearl and Lynn Alleys in downtown Columbus. Pearl Market runs on Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. from May 15 through October 26.

Pearl Market supports entrepreneurs and buy-local initiatives, acting as a retail incubator for those testing the downtown market while providing locally grown produce to downtown workers and residents. Pearl Market demonstrates that small businesses can and do make money downtown.
